Is Montessori religious?No, Montessori education is not religious.

Will my child have the opportunity to play and be creative?Children will have the opportunity to move freely around the classroom and will also have the time to explore outdoors.

Is it true that the children get to choose what they want to do?Yes, there is freedom of choice within limits. The combination of a prepared environment, structured lessons, and clear boundaries allows children to choose their activities within defined guidelines.

How do children transition from the Montessori version of kindergarten to first grade and will you prepare my child for public school?Children who learn in a Montessori environment are well-prepared to transition into public school. Through their work, they develop essential skills and are ready to join larger groups and engage in different levels of learning, such as kindergarten.

What hours are you open?We are open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Is there a daily schedule my child will follow?The day begins at 8:00 AM. The daily routine will include Montessori work cycle, snack and lunch time, outdoor recess time, and nap time. The day will end at 3:30 PM.

Is programming available before and after school?Currently, the before and after school program isn’t offered.

What is the check-in procedure for my child?You will sign your child in which will be logged on Brightwheel by the teacher. The teacher will be there to greet you and the child.

Where does my child keep his/her personal property at school?Each child has a cubby for their belongings. We teach the children to take care of their possessions and remember to bring them home.

What does my child need to bring to school?A backpack, change of clothes, extra pair of shoes, lunch, and a water bottle. AM/PM snacks will be provided.

What is the pick-up time and procedure for my child?Pick-up time is 3:30 and you will sign your child out. Please make sure to be punctual. Late fees will be applied to regular offenders.

What is the maximum class size?The maximum class is 8.

What is your approach to discipline?Our approach to discipline is based on fostering self-discipline and respect. It involves creating a prepared environment with clear expectations and consistent boundaries, guiding children to make positive choices. Teachers model respectful behavior and use gentle redirection, encouraging children to develop self-control, responsibility, and an understanding of the consequences of their actions. The focus is on teaching children to resolve conflicts and manage their emotions constructively.

Is there technology in the classroom?There is no technology in the classroom.

How do we communicate with parents?In order to keep parents in the loop I’d love to connect in person when needed. I will also communicate through email and Brightwheel which is a private online portal.

Are the children exposed to pork or nuts at the site?No, Pink Tower is a pork and nut-free environment.

What is the illness policy?If a child becomes sick during the school day, we will call the parents to take their child home. If the parents don’t answer then we will contact people listed on the emergency card.

What are the guidelines for keeping your child at home when sick?If your child isn’t feeling well enough to participate, as a fever, or any contagious disease please keep your child home to ensure the health and safety of everyone.

Do you dispense medication to children?Medication can be administered to children with written permission from the parents or a doctor's note if medically necessary.

What are your standards for daycare cleaning and sanitation?Everything is thoroughly sanitized to ensure a clean environment.

Do you have an earthquake/disaster strategy in place?Yes, we have a formal emergency evacuation plan if needed. Parents will be notified where we have evacuated. We also have emergency supplies on site. We are also CPR and first aid certified.
